He Qigai, Ph.D, Professor, Tutor of Ph.D students.He has been a member of the third committee of China veterinary medicine Canon and selected to be the committee member of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference in 2006, the consultant of international cooperation project from the Ministry of Science and Technology, the expert of United Nations Development Porgram in Hubei province.

 
His research covers the epidemiological survey and isolation, identification of important pathogenic microorganism, the interaction between pathogen and host cells, novel vaccine, new diagnostic method, the clinical prevention of animal disease. His research interest includes PRV, PCV, PTGE, HPS, APP and antimicrobial reagent. Since 2001, he has been in charge of 8 research projects from nation, ministry or province, companies. Two of his research achievements have been identified and accepted. Meanwhile, he was honored the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award(2001), the second prize of Outstanding Achievements in Teaching of Ministry of Education, and issued five national registration certificates novel animal drug.

He has helped farmers to solve a large number of clinical problems, and tried his best to contribute to our national healthy developing of animal production and prevention for zoonoses.
